NAICS and SBA Size Standards Changes

With both the U.S. Census Bureau releasing the 2022 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) making updates to the Table of Size standards this year, Lockheed Martin and Exostar are working diligently to stay current and reflect those updates in 2023.

NAICS code categories do not distinguish between small and large business, or between for-profit and non-profit and the SBA developed size standards for each NAICS code category.

All suppliers must enter and annually self-certify NAICS codes and size standards in Exostar TPM, whether they are considered small or large. If a small business does not have the NAICS code and certification that says they are small, they will be counted as large in our government reporting.

Changes to vendor profiles directly affected by new NAICS codes will require a two-factor compliant Organization Administrator to perform the annual self-certification exercise in Exostar TPM and replace 2017 invalid codes with those updated in 2022. Impacted vendors will receive further communications directing them to certify to 2022 NAICS codes.
