Let's Talk Ethics
Lockheed Martin has three core values: Do What’s Right, Respect Others and Perform with Excellence. One way to perform with excellence is to partner for excellence. Lockheed Martin’s Ethics and Business Conduct organization recently did just that by partnering with our Global Supply Chain team to present “Why Ethics?” to more than 80 suppliers who joined the July Supplier Training Excellence Program (STEP) presentation. Positive feedback from this presentation led the Ethics organization to establish “Let’s Talk Ethics” every other month.
This informal discussion forum kicked off on August 29, with more than 30 suppliers who learned more about the importance (and requirement, in some cases) for Codes of Conduct. The Ethics team shared some mentoring success stories as well as templates and resources to help suppliers, regardless of the size and structure of their organization. Several suppliers reached out to express thanks for the resources and offer to meet with smaller groups to discuss various ethics and compliance topics. The next “Let’s Talk Ethics” will be held in October. Future guest speakers include Lockheed Martin Senior Fellow Jeff Chang, who will share details about the Illumination initiative. The Ethics team is here to promote the importance of a values-based ethics program that aligns Lockheed Martin with our equally mission-focused suppliers.
